A "Little Women" Special
~Date to be announced~
Enjoy the crackling fires at the New London Inn while engaged in one of New England's most delightful classic novels! Jennifer Bernard, official photographer for Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House, will line the walls of the inn with her black-and-white portraits that evoke the time and characters of Alcott's classic "Little Women." At her artist's cider-and-cheese reception, Bernard will also offer an intimate inside look at Alcott's interesting life and the maintenance of Orchard House in Concord, Mass.
Immediately following that, innkeeper Bridget LeRoy will screen the 1949 version of the film "Little Women," starring Elizabeth Taylor, Mary Astor, June Allyson, and Margaret O'Brien, directed by her grandfather Mervyn LeRoy, and read a short excerpt from his biography entailing the making of the film. Cider and sugar cookies provided.
Package includes one or two night stay including extended continental breakfast, artist reception, film screening, and your own copy of "Little Women" to bring home and read by your fireside. Photography by Jennifer Bernard is for sale, and commissions are available as well.
Please mention the "Little Women" package when making your reservation in order to reserve your copy of the book and to ensure we have room for all at the screening!
Stay tuned for dates toward the end of winter
